With the release of Episode 1 of Life is Strange 2 just around the corner, Square Enix and Dontnod have released a short documentary taking us behind the scenes of the development of their narrative adventure sequel.

Entitled ‘The Road to Life is Strange 2‘, the 10-minute short film includes never-before-seen footage, plus interviews with the game’s co-creators including Michel Koch, Raoul Barbet and Jean-Luc Cano.

Life is Strange 2 follows the story of Sean and Daniel Diaz, two brothers who are forced to flee on a road trip across America after a catastrophic incident at home. Though the first game relied heavily on the time-rewinding skills of protagonist Max Caulfield, the follow-up seems to focus on the relationship between the two brothers instead. Your actions as Sean can affect how Daniel sees the world, for example.

Quite how the supernatural fits into the game this time around, though, remains to be seen. There are hints in the game’s opening moments, but Dontnod has been very quiet about revealing anything in more detail.

Life is Strange 2 – Episode 1 is scheduled for release on September 27 for PS4, Xbox One and PC. Future episodes will be available over the months following the debut.
