Just days ago it was revealed that Space Channel 5 VR would be released for PlayStation 4. Now the first trailer has been released.

Developed by G-rounding Inc, the game is titled Space Channel 5 VR Arakata Dancing Show in Japan, and Space Channel 5 VR Kinda Funky News Flash in the west. The trailer was shown during Sony’s PlayStation pre-Tokyo Game Show line-up. In it we see news reporter Ulala dancing along with others and blasting aliens with her Chu Beam.

Initially developed for HTC’s Vive headset, the game has players take on the role of a new reporter at a future universe television station. After deciding on life-saving dance poses with senior reporter Ulala, you eventually get to dance with her as you save the world from invading aliens.

The original rhythm-based game was released on the Sega Dreamcast back in 1999 and had players controlling Ulala, Space Channel 5’s news reporter who is tasked to report on an alien invasion. Reporting turns to rescuing as Ulala has to use her dance moves and Chu Beam in dance-offs and to save hostages.

Space Channel 5 VR is set to be released for PlayStation VR in 2019.
