Warner Bros. has released the final trailer for sequel Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald and a series of character posters.

The dark wizard Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) was captured by MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America), only to escape custody and set about gathering followers, with plans to raise pure-blood wizards to rule over all non-magical beings. In an effort to stop Grindelwald, Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) enlists his former student, Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne), who agrees to help, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead.

The final trailer includes Albus Dumbledore seeing a young Grindelwald in the Mirror of Erised, as well as his reason for sending Newt rather than going after Grindelwald himself. The biggest highlight is actress Claudia Kim revealed as Nagini, Lord Voldemort’s trusted serpent and Horcrux. Kim was initially sworn to secrecy on her role in the film, but in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, she publicly announced her character’s name, saying, “You’ve only seen her as a Horcrux. In this, she’s a wonderful and vulnerable woman who wants to live. She wants to stay a human being and I think that’s a wonderful contrast to the character.”

Warner has also released nine character posters, each with their own unique descriptions and border art. Click to enlarge.

The film features the return of Katherine Waterston as Tina Goldstein, Alison Sudol as Queenie Goldstein, Dan Fogler as Jacob Kowalski and Ezra Miller as Credence Barebone. The cast also includes Zoë Kravitz as Leta Lestrange, Callum Turner as Theseus Scamander and Carmen Ejogo as Seraphina Picquery.

Written by J.K. Rowling and directed by David Yates, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald opens in the UK and US on 16 November 2018.
