Dmitry Grozov, aka Ahriman, is known for reimagining classic movies as 1980s style anime art. You can check out the Russian freelance artist’s work on Instagram and ArtStation., where you can see his take on Aliens, Jurassic Park, Terminator 2Blade Runner and The Fifth Element. Now he’s gone one step further and produced an anime-style trailer for Star Wars: A New Hope.

The “Animotion Trailer” includes Japanese dialogue (taken from the Japanese dub of the film) and is reminiscent of Legend of the Galactic Heroes. We see Obi-Wan’s duel against Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker igniting his lightsaber and Han Solo meeting Jabba the Hutt.

The trailer has received heaps of praise, with some leaving comments asking for the whole movie to be remade this way, as well as asking for trailers for the rest of the original trilogy.

If it does leave you wanting more, then you won’t have to wait long till Star Wars receives its official anime debut with Star Wars: Resistance on Disney XD this October.
