Cowboy Bebop: The Movie comes to UK cinemas tomorrow

Sci-fi anime film Cowboy Bebop: The Movie comes to select UK theatres on Wednesday 19 September as part of Showcase Cinemas’ ‘Flashback’ series of classic movies.

Based on hit ‘90s TV series Cowboy Bebop, the 2001 film is showing at a dozen Showcase venues across the country courtesy of distributer Park Circus, with 19:15 screenings at the cinema chain’s Bluewater, Bristol, Cardiff Nantgarw, Coventry, Derby, Dudley, Leeds, Leicester, Manchester, Nottingham, Reading and Southampton braches.

Released in Japan as Cowboy Bebop: Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door, Cowboy Bebop: The Movie is a directed by series helmer Shinichiro Watanabe (Space Dandy, Samurai Champloo). The film sees Spike and the rest of the Bebop crew in pursuit of a dangerous terrorist planning to wipe out the population of Mars with a mysterious pathogen.

Meanwhile, next week sees Cowboy Bebop: The Movie snag a home video re-release from Manga Entertainment, with DVD and Blu-ray versions hitting stores on Monday 24 September.
