Renegade Game Studios is teaming up with new Power Rangers license holder Hasbro to make a co-operative board game based on the long-running superhero franchise.

Designed by Jonathan Ying, whose previous work includes Star Wars: Imperial Assault, DOOM: The Board Game and Bargain Quest, Power Rangers: Heroes of the Grid comes to Kickstarter on 14 August and is expected to get a North American release in spring 2019.

Featuring graphics by comic artist Dan Mora and over-sized plastic miniatures, Heroes of the Grid challenges 2-5 players to take on the role of Power Rangers and save Angel Grove from a host of baddies in real time, with core set villains including Rita Repulsa, Pudgy Pig, Madame Woe and relentless swarms of Putty Patrollers.

Renegade Game Studios also announced the game’s first expansion, The Shattered Grid. Pulling new locations, allies and enemies directly from the pages of BOOM! Studios’ Power Rangers comic book series, the expansion will see The Ranger Slayer, Black Dragon and Lord Drakkon join Team Bad Guy while Power Rangers Hyperforce help out our heroes.
