There aren’t many films like One Cut of the Dead. It’s a zombie comedy like no other, made with no budget and featuring an incredible 40-minute one-shot, Shinichiro Ueda’s film debut is as ambitious as it is hilarious. It follows a fictitious cast and crew as they try to film in an abandoned water filtration plant, which was allegedly used for human experimentation. The director (Takayuki Hamatsu) is determined to make the perfect movie, even if that means he has to summon the undead to make it happen!

Things quickly take a turn for the worst, and the cast and crew have to try and survive the impeding zombie apocalypse. But that’s not all, as the film pulls off an unexpected twist that’ll have audiences laughing out of their seats. One Cut of the Dead has done incredibly well both in Japan and internationally, with sold-out screenings in its home country for the past two months while also earning countless awards at film festivals across the world.

Brought to screens across Europe by Third Window Films, the stellar independent film will have its UK premiere at London FrightFest Film Festival 2018, on August 25 at the Prince Charles Cinema. Tickets are £15 and selling out fast. Don’t miss your chance to see this hilarious film ahead of its home video release. This is Japan’s answer to Shaun of the Dead, and, boy, is it good. Trust us, this is not one to miss!
