First screenings announced for October’s Scotland Loves Anime

Penguin Highway, Fate/stay Night: Heaven’s Feel Movie 1: Presage Flower and I Want to Eat Your Pancreas will be among the anime movies showing at this October’s Scotland Loves Anime. The annual Glasgow and Edinburgh-set film festival will also play host to B: The Beginning director Kazuto Nakazawa.

Returning to Glasgow on 12-14 October and Edinburgh on 15-21 October, this year’s Scotland Loves Anime screenings will include the EU Premiere of young director Hiroyasu Ishida’s debut feature Penguin Highway and the UK premiere of Presage Flower, the first film in animation studio Ufotable’s Fate/stay Night: Heaven’s Feel movie trilogy.

Also announced are coming-of-age tearjerker I Want to Eat Your Pancreas, compilation film Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt Film 1: December Sky and Yoshiaki Kawajiri’s 1990 cult classic Cyber City Oedo 808. Meanwhile, Kazuto Nakazawa, best known for helming the animated sequence in Kill Bill: Volume 1, will be taking part in a Q&A session on Saturday 13 October following a screening of the opening episodes of his series B: The Beginning.

The UK rights to Production I.G-made detective thriller B: The Beginning were recently acquired by Anime Limited, with plans to release a Collector’s Edition on Blu-ray in 2019.
