Patch 4.36 has been released today for Final Fantasy 14, bringing a new encounter with Rathlos as part of the collaboration with Capcom’s Monster Hunter World.

The new trial, entitled The Great Hunt, can be tackled by parties of eight or four players. The eight-player version is the easier of the two, with the four-player version considered the ‘Extreme’ version of the encounter as it also adds additional mechanics for you to overcome.

Players who are able to emerge victorious from the fight will be able to earn a Rathlos Armour Set, new minions, new mounts and new housing items. The furnishing is a BBQ Spit, so you can cook up your quarry once you’ve seen it off for good!

Alongside the new trial, Patch 4.36 adds the next part of the Forbidden Land of Eureka quest line. The Pagos Expedition adds a whole new area for you to explore and further upgrade Eureka weapons.

Meanwhile, we’re only three months away from the first stop in this year’s run of Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festivals. The tour begins on November 16th in Las Vegas, Nevada, where we expect to hear the first news about the MMORPG’s next expansion.
