If you’ve already gone through God of War for the PS4 and you’re still craving more action, then Dark Horse Comics have announced that they will release a God of War comic series.

Produced in collaboration with Santa Monica Studio and Sony Interactive Entertainment, the four-issue miniseries tells of an event that took place before the latest game in the franchise, with Kratos living in the remote Norse wilds after his war on the gods of Olympus. Looking to put the rage that defined most of his life behind him, Kratos does a good deed, saving a stranger from being mauled by a monstrous bear. However, his actions inadvertently sparks a feud with a mysterious cult of berserkers.

The series is written by Chris Roberson, illustrated by artist Tony Parker, coloured by Dan Jackson and lettered by John Roshell. The cover art, as seen here for issue #1, is by E.M. Gist.

God of War has previously seen a comic book miniseries, which was released back in 2010 to coincide with the game God of War III. Published by Wildstorm and DC Comics, it flipped between the past and the present as Kratos searched for the Ambrosia of Asclepius.

Dark Horse Comics will release issue #1 of God of War on 14 November 2018.
