Blizzard releases two World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth cinematics

The buildup to the release of World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth continues apace, with Blizzard releasing two new story cinematics focusing on two central characters in the conflict between the Horde and the Alliance: Jaina Proudmoore and Sylvanas Windrunner.

The first video, which debuted last week, delves into the current mental state of Jaina, as she reflects on the decisions she made in the past that led to her father’s death. Now, she appears to be mired in regret, but instead of sinking in it she uses it to harden her resolve and come out fighting. Seriously, you probably don’t want to mess with her right now.

The second video focuses on the Banshee Queen and current Warchief of the Horde, as she commits a heinous act of war against the Alliance. The story implications of her actions have caused quite a stir within the game’s community, with many feeling that the decision to paint Sylvanas – and effectively the entire Horde faction – as straight up evil villains goes against the history of the series.

Why not take a look at both of the well-produced videos and decide for yourself?

World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth, the seventh expansion to Blizzard’s iconic MMORPG, will be released on August 14 for PC and Mac.
