The official website for the Eureka Seven Hi-Evolution movie trilogy has unveiled details of the second film in the series, along with a new 30-second promo video and poster art.

Going on general release in Japanese cinemas on 10 November, the studio Bones-animated movie will be titled ‘Anemone: Eureka Seven Hi–Evolution’ and tells the story of pink-haired ace mecha pilot Anemone, one of the antagonists of the original TV anime.

Having lost her father in battle seven years before the Tokyo-set Anemone: Eureka Seven Hi–Evolution opens, Anemone was left with only her plush toy Gulliver and AI concierge Dominikids for support. Taken in by the experimental unit Acid, Anemone is selected to combat the seventh Eureka, held responsible for the death of 2.6 billion people.

According to the film’s website, the upcoming Anemone will make the ‘true meaning’ of last year’s first Hi Evolution movie clear. Tomoki Kyoda returns as chief director, while the original designer of Eureka Seven’s giant robot Nirvash, Shoji Kawamori (credited under his pen name of ‘Masaharu Kawamori’) acts as mechanical designer.
