Nintendo uploaded a trailer for the SNK 40th Anniversary Collection, one that’s made to look like it’s running off an old VHS tape. It also reveals when the game will be released.

Since there is currently no Virtual Console available on the Switch, this retro compilation might be the next best thing, as the collection includes SNK’s arcade and console games from the 1980s (and the odd few from the early 1990s). Reported by Gematsu, it is released in the US on 13 November 2018 and will arrive in Europe on 16 November 2018.

At least 13 games have been revealed, though the official website tells us that more will be announced. The games revealed so far include:

  • Alpha Mission
  • Athena
  • Crystalis
  • Ikari Warriors
  • Ikari III: The Rescue
  • Guerrilla War
  • P.O.W.
  • Prehistoric Isle in 1930
  • Psycho Soldier
  • Street Smart
  • TNK III
  • Vanguard
  • Victory Road

As well as being able to play the classics in high definition there is also the option to rewind and save at any point. Plus, there is an SNK Museum, a gallery that includes artwork, promotional material and production notes.

US gamers can also get a hold of a limited edition that comes bundled with a 40th Anniversary Art Collection hardcover art book and a Nostalgic Music Collection CD, with the game, book and CD coming in its own collector’s box.
