With Shenmue and Shenmue II set to be re-released this August, Sega has released the first in a series of videos that answers, What is Shenmue?

Since some never got to experience the original games when they were released on Sega’s Dreamcast, they might be wondering what this Shenmue is all about. So if you’ve never played the games before and are interested in trying them out, or you’re just a fan that wants to experience Yu Suzuki’s epic masterpieces all over again before the release of Shenmue III next year, then this is for you.

The first video is called The Story and features Corey Marshall, the English voice actor of Ryo Hazuki, who guides viewers on the basics surrounding Hazuki’s tale of revenge and the mystery of the Dragon Mirror.

The re-releases are described as the definitive versions, with fully scalable screen resolutions, modern or classic control schemes, an updated UI and the choice of Japanese or English voiceovers.

Shenmue and Shenmue II is released on 21 August 2018 for PS4, Xbox One and PC and is available to pre-order on the official Shenmue website.
