Following their successful release last year with Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You!, Fathom Events will be distributing the latest release, Pokémon the Movie: The Power of Us, which will be hitting the big screen around the world from November.

The 21st movie in the Pokémon franchise is set during Fuura City’s annual Wind Festival, where legend has it that on the final day of the festival the Legendary Pokémon Lugia will appear and bless the city. Ash and Pikachu help rescue the city from a series of threatening incidents, meeting new characters along the way. They include Pokémon newbie and student Lisa, the mysterious girl Largo, timid researcher Torito, the boastful liar Kagachi and a Pokémon-hating old lady Hisui.

“We can’t wait to bring the magic of Pokémon to life on the big screen again with Fathom Events’ expertise in event cinema,” said J.C. Smith, senior director of consumer marketing at The Pokémon Company International.

The official Pokémon YouTube channel has also released an English dubbed trailer for the movie, featuring the new characters and a glimpse of Legendary Pokémon Lugia and Mythical Pokémon Zeraora.

The movie will be shown in cinemas in select international markets. So far only dates for the US have been revealed, with screenings to take place on 24, 26 and 28 November and 1 December. Screening dates for the rest of the world will be available soon.

Released in Japan on 13 July 2018 under the title, Pokémon the Movie: Everyone’s Story, the movie has so far earned ¥1.625 billion ($14.6 million) at the Japanese box office.
