It seems like nearly every aspect of pop culture has been given the Funko Pop treatment nowadays, but one immensely popular franchise is still yet to turn up in vinyl form. That will all change very soon, with the launch of the Pikachu Pop later this month.

Yep, Funko Pop has announced that the cute electric critter and mascot for the Pokémon series will be released in July as a Target exclusive in the US. Details on how or if you’ll be able to acquire it outside of the US are currently unavailable, so if you’re based in another country you might want to call on a few favours from your American friends. Siliconera has a few more close up and unboxed images.

It marks the first Pokémon Pop Vinyl to be made available, and while no announcement was made at the time as to whether other pocket monsters will be released, we would put good money on seeing some eventually. Like, they have about 4000 to draw on now or something, don’t they? (OK, the number is 802 but the point still stands!)

Meanwhile, if you’re looking for other ways to get more Pikachu in your life, a whole host of new information for the upcoming Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! games was recently released. We got a closer look at a number of each game’s features, including how you can bond with your chosen Pokémon, some of the familiar faces you’ll see on your journey and how co-op play will work.
