Manga Entertainment has announced its roadmap for the rest of 2018, starting with the 17 September DVD release of Digimon Tamers. Penned by Chiaki Konaka (Serial Experiments Lain), Digimon Tamers is the darker-toned third TV instalment of the Digimon franchise.

September also sees individual Blu-ray and DVD releases for Satoshi Kon’s Paprika, Shinichirō Watanabe’s Cowboy Bebop: The Movie and Katsuhiro Otomo’s Steamboy – three films currently only available from the UK distributor as combi packs.

October promises to be a busy month, opening with a re-release of cyberpunk sequel Ghost in the Shell: Innocence and a delayed debut for the live action Power Rangers: Ninja Steel Volume 2, originally slated to drop on 6 August.

Next up is the digitally-remastered dub of 2004’s Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie, which receives an 8 October home release following a UK theatrical screening back in June. As well as garnering an individual DVD and Blu-ray release, the film will be part of a DVD-only triple bill alongside fellow Yu-Gi-Oh! titles Bonds Beyond Time and The Dark Side of Dimensions.

We’re back in Satoshi Kon territory on 15 October with the release of Tokyo Godfathers. Co-written with Keiko Nobumoto (Cowboy Bebop, Wolf’s Rain), the warm-hearted 2003 comedy follows a trio of homeless people who find an abandoned baby on Christmas Eve.

The One Piece (Uncut) Collection 19 and Pokémon Movie Collection 17-19: XY both follow on 22 October. This latest bundle of Pokémon films will feature a trio of titles – 2014’s Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction, 2015’s Hoopa and the Clash of Ages and 2016 feature Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel.

Manga UK’s October schedule continues with more Digimon goodness in the shape of light-hearted fourth series Digimon Frontier, which hits stores on the 29th. The same day also sees the release of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Complete Season 1-3.

A sparse November sees the lone arrival of Naruto Shippuden Box 34 on the 19th, while December kicks off with (you guessed it!) more Digimon – this time wrapping up Toei’s Digimon Adventure tri. movie series with the release of the sixth and final film, Future.

Rounding out Manga UK’s 2018 offering is the 10 December release of Kyoto Animation’s recent Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions! feature film Take On Me – pushed back from its original 22 October release date – and One Piece (Uncut) Collection 20 on 17 December.
