The newly-launched website for cheerleader-themed series Anima Yell! has released the first promo video for the upcoming anime, which premieres on Japanese TV this October.

Made by Doga Kobo, the animation studio behind shows such as New Game!, YuruYuri and Koihime Musō, Anima Yell! adapts Tsukasa Unohana’s 4koma manga series about helpful high schooler Kohane Hatoya, who starts a cheerleading club at her school.

Waving pom-poms alongside the pink-haired Kohane (voiced by Yuka Ozaki) are her childhood friend Uki (Mikako Izawa); experienced cheerleader Hizume (Yuina Yamada); shrinking violet Kotetsu (Tomori Kusunoki) and Hizume’s former cheer squad teammate Kana (Haruka Shiraishi).

Anima Yell! marks the series directorial debut of Masako Sato, who has previously helmed episodes of Haikyu!! and Golden Time, as well as being assistant director on Production I.G movie Miss Hokusai. Meanwhile, Fumihiko Shimo (Amagi Brilliant Park, The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya) handles the script and New Game!’s Manamu Amasaki heads up character design.
