First trailer for M. Night Shyamalan’s Glass

Following a succession of character teases Universal Pictures has released the first trailer for M. Night Shyamalan’s Glass, sequel to Split, and bringing back Unbreakable’s David Dunn and Elijah Price, aka Mr. Glass.

After the event’s of Split, David Dunn (Bruce Willis) finds himself in pursuit of Kevin Wendell Crumb (James McAvoy) and his superhuman figure of The Beast. During his search, the shadowy presence of Elijah Price (Samuel l. Jackson) emerges as an orchestrator who holds secrets critical to both men.

The trailer shows that the three of them get locked up together at a psychiatric institution, receiving ‘treatment’ from therapist Dr. Ellie Staple (Sarah Poulson), due to their belief that they are superheroes.

While Split saw McAvoy play eight different personalities, according to Shyamalan, the current edit of Glass has McAvoy portraying 21 different personalities.

The film also starts Anya Taylor-Joy, Spencer Treat Clark, Luke Kirby and Charlayne Woodard. Universal will distribute the film in the US while Disney will distribute everywhere else.

Glass opens in the UK and US on 18 January 2019.
