David Morrissey, The Governor in The Walking Dead, to meet fans at MCM Birmingham

David Morrissey, who played ruthless villain The Governor in The Walking Dead and wannabe Time Lord Jackson Lake in 2008’s Doctor Who Christmas special, will be among the special guests meeting fans when MCM Birmingham Comic Con returns in November.

Dubbed ‘one of the most versatile British actors of his generation’ by the BFI, Morrissey has starred in a host of TV, film and stage productions. In addition to his memorable roles in The Walking Dead and Doctor Who, the Liverpool-born actor recently appeared as Roman general Aulus Plautius in Jez Butterworth drama Britannia; as Captain Sam Webster in acclaimed mystery thriller The Missing; as General Tobias Shepherd in sci-fi series Extant and as Inspector Borlú in the BBC’s adaptation of Miéville’s The City & the City.

Other well known television roles include an award-winning portrayal of Gordon Brown in Stephen Frears’ The Deal; Colonel Brandon in the BBC’s popular 2008 adaptation of Sense and Sensibility; Stephen Collins in political thriller State of Play and Northumberland in Rupert Goold’s BAFTA-nominated Richard II. Meanwhile, Morrissey’s big screen credits include Captain Corelli’s Mandolin, The Other Boleyn Girl, Centurion, Welcome to the Punch and Girl with a Pearl Earring.
