Netflix has announced that Season 2 of their anime series based on the Castlevania video games will be available for streaming from October 26.

The announcement was made on Twitter earlier this week, also confirming that the second season would be twice as long as the first, doubling the episode count up to eight.

Castlevania Season 2 will continue the story of Trevor Belmont as he and his allies attempt to save humanity from Dracula and the sinister vampire war council.

The same key cast and crew members have returned for the sequel, so Warren Ellis is back on writing duties and Sam Deats is in the director’s chair. Meanwhile, Richard Armitage reprises his role as Trevor Belmont and James Callis slips into the cape of Alucard once again.

The first season was reasonably well received, so here’s hoping this year’s follow-up can build upon that further with a macabre and gothic masterpiece.
