There’s a lot to absorb in this 60-second trailer…
…and then there’s even more in this one!
Those who are caught up on the series will remember that season 3 ended on a very dark note, but even from this first glimpse, it seems events are continuing down a dark path.
We knew we were always headed down a less-than-noble conclusion with Jimmy McGill, but watching Jimmy slowly slip into his Saul Goodman persona is more excruciating than we could ever have imagined…which is what makes this one of the best series written for television, ever. We know how it ends…and yet it’s compelling.
There are also more Breaking Bad connections ahead, as showrunner Peter Gould and executive producer Vince Gilligan have confirmed that some of the story of Better Call Saul season 4 will take place during the events of Breaking Bad. They’ve said that Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul won’t be making appearances this season…and that’s a good thing. It will be interesting to see exactly how the inevitable overlap will be handled.
It’s been a long wait for this new season, but it looks as though it’ll have been well worth it. The last incredible, epic, amazing, thrilling final episode of season three aired over a year ago.
Better Call Saul returns to AMC August 6th at 9pm Eastern Time.
