Red Dead Redemption 2 might be coming to PC

We already know that Red Dead Redemption 2 is coming to PS4 and Xbox One later this October, but Rockstar Games hasn’t said a word about whether it’s coming to PC too. Well, we may have our first hint that it is if a LinkedIn profile for one of the game’s developers is to be believed.

The slip up was spotted by those fine folks over at VG247, who grabbed a screenshot from the developer’s profile that lists PS4, Xbox One and PC as release platforms for Red Dead Redemption 2. It also shows that he or she has worked on previous Rockstar Games releases such as L.A. Noire and Grand Theft Auto 5.

Just how likely is this, though? To be honest, we think there’s a good chance it’s true. Both L.A. Noire and GTA5 eventually made their way to PC – the latter seeing significant success, especially with GTA Online – so there’s a clear precedent.

As for why the original Red Dead Redemption never came to PC? It’s been suggested that it would have been very complicated to make happen for technical reasons, so Rockstar decided to pass on the port. A fresh start with Red Dead Redemption 2 may have made the process a whole lot easier.

We might also infer that Rockstar is keeping quiet on the PC version for now as it’ll likely see a release after the console debut, as with many of their previous games. So, while Red Dead Redemption 2 is coming to PS4 and Xbox One on October 26, the PC version may not come out until 2019.
