Bkub Okawa has seen his manga for Pop Team Epic adapted into an anime series, which was broadcast earlier this year. So popular are the duo Popuko and Pipimi that they now have Nendoroid figures, they have collaborated with Batman Ninja (which they are not upset about) and now they are collaborating with Pioneer to release officially licensed headphones.

As reported on Natalie, these headphones are in fact Pioneer’s SE-CH5T model, which have received a Popuko and Pipimi makeover by Bkub Okawa.

You have the choice of a red Popuko set, or blue Pipimi set. When you line the headphones together then you can see Popuko and Pipimi in their now iconic middle-fingers pose. The headphones also come with a carry case that has the Pop Team Epic logo on it.

The headphones are made for Hi-Res Audio, with a frequency response of 8 Hz – 45 kHz and impedance at 26 ohms. It also features an over-the-ear cable design and Pioneer’s Airflow Control Port to improve separation between mid and bass frequencies.

The headphones are available to pre-order from e-earphone, from 11 June 2018 to 8 August 2018. Priced at ¥10,000 (about £68 / $91), they are scheduled to be shipped out sometime in the middle of October 2018. If you are outside of Japan and really want Popuko and Pipimi in your ears, then you’ll have to consider using a deputy service.
