Netflix original anime B: The Beginning is to get a second season ‘soon’, the streaming giant announced at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival.
A collaboration between Netflix and animation studio Production I.G (Psycho-Pass, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex), sci-fi mystery series B: The Beginning follows genius sleuth Keith Flick as he rejoins the royal police force just in time to investigate a brutal double murder, rumoured to be the work of an infamous serial killer dubbed ‘Killer B’.
Directed by Kazuto Nakazawa and Yoshiki Yamakawa, the first 12-episode season of B: The Beginning debuted worldwide on 2 March, and is currently competing in the TV Films category at the Annecy Festival.
The French film festival also saw Netflix announce the 21 September premiere of western fantasy animation Hilda, a Mercury Filmworks series based on Luke Pearson’s comic books about the adventures of a fearless blue-haired girl as she travels to the bustling city of Trolberg.
