It was only back in May that SNK officially announced the Neo Geo Mini. Now they have released a presentation video on their YouTube channel revealing when they intend to launch the console and the full line-up games.
If you don’t want to use the built-in joystick and buttons, the video shows that a Neo Geo Mini Pad will be available in black and white, and can be connected to the console via the ports on the side. You can also press the Start and Select buttons at any time to access settings where you can save and load your games.
The video includes a Q&A with Masashi Sawatari, former editor-in-chief of ARCADIA magazine; Masanori Kusumoto, the designer of the Neo Geo, and Shinsuke Matsushita, the designer of the Neo Geo Mini.
Asked on when the console will be released, Matsushita says, “We plan to release it this summer. It will launch first in Japan and will be followed by a global release later.” As for the price, he says, “We are in the final stages of settling on an amount that we feel our customers will be happy with.”
There will be two versions of the Neo Geo Mini, one for the Japanese market, which is red, white and blue; another for the international market, which is blue, white and black. The console will include 40 games, however the line up will be slightly different for each of them, with 14 titles exclusive to the Japanese and international version.
The games are listed below. * = exclusive to that console.
