The first teaser trailer for Tsurune has given us our first look at the five main characters of Kyoto Animation’s upcoming school archery club anime, as well as announcing an October premiere date for the cute-boys-with-bows show.

Adapting Kotoko Ayano’s award-winning light novel of the same name, which Kyoto Animation (K-On!, Sound! Euphonium) itself published in 2016, Tsurune follows the five lads of Kazemai High School’s Archery Club in their bid to win the prefectural tournament.

Yūto Uemura (Bungo Stray Dogs, Darling in the Franxx) voices teen protagonist Minato Narumiya, who decides to take up archery again after abandoning the sport in middle school. Minato’s fellow club members are Seiya Takehaya (voiced by Aoi Ichikawa); Ryōhei Yamanouchi (Ryōta Suzuki); Nanao Kisaragi (Shōgo Yano) and Kaito Onogi (Kaito Ishikawa).

Takuya Yamamura, who has previously helmed episodes of KyoAni series Sound! Euphonium and Violet Evergarden, gets his break as series director.
