With Kick-Ass and Kingsman director Matthew Vaughn setting up Marv Studios, he’s already planning a Kick-Ass reboot, with a solo Hit-Girl film and a Kingsman TV series on the way.

From talking to Empire Magazine, Vaughn said, “We’re going to reboot Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl. Look what Mark Millar is doing with the comic for clues.”

As for what Mark Millar is doing, he went to Twitter to reveal that the new film would follow the story of his new Kick-Ass comic. Published earlier this year by Image Comics, it tells of Patience Lee, a war veteran, donning the green and yellow spandex costume after her husband puts them in financial debt, leaving her fighting for her family’s survival.

Millar tweeted, “For anyone curious about the upcoming Kick-Ass live-action things, here’s Patience Lee in her first issue,” as he linked to where readers can read the first issue. Just before the comic was published, Millar was vocal about having Tessa Thompson as his “one choice” for playing Patience in a film, having recently tweeted, “Also, Tessa Thompson or get out of my office. She’s the queen right now in American actresses!” Tessa herself also appeared to be interested.

The Hit-Girl solo film could go either way. There is the possibility of a prequel looking at Mindy Macready’s early years, growing up and fighting crime alongside Big Daddy. Or it could follow Image Comics new Hit-Girl comic, with an older Mindy leaving America and fighting crime around the world, her first stop being Columbia. A Hit-Girl film had previously been in discussion before Kick-Ass 2 was released, as Miller revealed in an interview with IGN that The Raid’s Gareth Evans was also in talks to direct it, but it never got off the ground.

The world of Kingsman will also be expanding. Vaughn revealed that there will be a third film, which he describes as “the conclusion of the Harry Hart-Eggsy relationship.” There will also be a prequel that’s already titled Kingsman: The Great Game, a Statesman spin-off that focuses on the American agents that were introduced in Kingsman: The Golden Circle, as well as an eight-hour Kingsman TV series.
