The official website for the live-action adaptation of Real Girl (3D Kanojo) has been updated with the full trailer. As reported on Natalie, it features the film’s theme song, Bedtime Story, by Kana Nishino.

Based on Mao Nanami’s manga, it follows Hikari Tsutsui, aka “Tsuttsun” (Hayato Sano, from the group M!LK), a high school student content with anime and video games. One day, he gets stuck cleaning the pool with Iroha Igarashi (Ayami Nakajo), a girl who is stylish, sassy and known to be easy with boys. After helping Iroha fend off an aggressive student, Tsuttsun’s whole world is turned upside down when she asks him if he will go out with her.

The new trailer features Tsuttsun getting in a fight with student Mitsuya Takanashi (Hiroya Shimizu), and Iroha admiring Tsuttsun’s collection of Magical Girl Ezomichi figures (the blue-haired protagonist from an anime that Tsuttsun is a fan of).

The anime series based on the manga came to an end this month, but it has recently been announced that it will receive a second season, set to air in January 2019.

Real Girl (3D Kanojo) is directed by Tsutomu Hanabusa (of The Handsome Suit and Sadako 3D) and opens in Japan on 14 September 2018.
