Devil May Cry 5 and Resident Evil 2 remake to appear at E3?

We have more potential E3 leaks today as some investigative work by The Palemoon from the DMC Discord server has uncovered two domain registrations that suggest Capcom will announce Devil May Cry 5 and divulge more on the Resident Evil 2 remake at this year’s gaming convention.

The Devil May Cry 5 address was registered on the 18th of last month and is significant because the registrar is the same Japanese provider that Capcom has used in the past for Monster Hunter World and Resident Evil 7.

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard about a new stylish sword-slinging adventure featuring the mop-haired dudebro either. Retailer listings have popped up in the past and voice actors have hinted about a new project, along with a host of other small clues.

So far, it doesn’t seem Ninja Theory will be back on development duties after their work on the excellent DmC. Their punk adaptation of Dante had its fair share of dissenters, but the game the British studio created was a refreshing take on both the game’s combat and character.

As for the Resident Evil 2 site update, there’s little to really go on at this stage. If you visit the page you’re greeted with a rather bland message that simply reads “OK” so that’s, er, OK?

The remake of Leon and Claire’s zombie-filled trek through Racoon City was first announced back in 2015 (wow, was it really that long ago?) and things have been very quiet since. Perhaps E3 will be the time we get our first proper look at the game?

Over the next couple of weeks, we’ll be following all the gaming news straight out of LA so we’ll definitely be keeping an eye on this one!
