Back in 2013 the world of gaming was changed forever with the release of the Naughty Dog action-adventure survival horror video game The Last of Us.

After receiving critical acclaim from critics and fans alike, speculation began on a potential follow up game. In 2017, the long awaited sequel was announced: The Last of Us Part II. Ever since this announcement, fans of the original haven’t been given much information in terms of story or gameplay for the upcoming game.

All that is currently confirmed is that the game will focus more on Ellie (Ashley Johnson) instead of previous protagonist Joel (Troy Baker). We’ve seen some trailers, but none of them include any gameplay. That is about to change this June as E3 is coming and The Last of Us Part II has been confirmed to make an appearance at the annual gaming mecca.

The news was confirmed via a few Tweets from Naughty Dog, with one saying that this is exciting news as E3 has confirmed that audiences will be treated to the first showcase of gameplay from the highly anticipated sequel.

What this gameplay will entail, no one knows for sure as Naughty Dog is very wisely keeping all the plot details of the game secret. Some fans hope they will get some answers to questions that have been around ever since the first trailer premiered over a year ago, like is Joel dead in this game? When will official release date of the game be announced? How has Ellie changed from the first game?

While there is no guarantee any of these questions will be answered at E3, it is certain that the presentation will get you more hyped than ever for the eventual release of this game. June 11th can’t come fast enough.
