Following last week’s teaser, Netflix has now released a full trailer showing the first footage from season two of 13 Reasons Why.

Season two continues the story where Jay Asher’s book left off. Until now, the lid has been kept fairly tight to keep plot details from escaping, but the synopsis reveals that Liberty High is to go on trial, but someone will stop at nothing to keep the truth surrounding the death of Hannah Baker (Katherine Langford) concealed. Plus, a series of ominous Polaroids start circulating, leading Clay Jensen (Dylan Minnette) and his classmates to uncover a sickening secret and a conspiracy to cover it up.

The first of these Polaroid photos appear in the new trailer, as Clay finds one in his locker with the words, “Hannah wasn’t the only one” written on it. Also, rather than relying on the justice system, some characters are taking matters into their own hands, as Tyler Down (Devin Druid) is seen thrown into a room, Mr. Porter (Derek Luke) faces up to Bryce Walker (Justin Prentice) and Clay is wielding a handgun. The trailer is played to the sounds of a new unreleased track by Anya Marina, How Far Does the Dark Go.

The second season of 13 Reasons Why hits Netflix on 18 May 2018.
