The open beta for frenetic action racer Onrush will run from Thursday 17th May to Monday 21st May, Koch Media and Codemasters have announced.

Far from a racing game in the traditional sense, Onrush is instead focused on you performing a series of objectives with skill and flair across a range of over-the-top tracks. Think Burnout, with all its crashes and takedowns, but with an added emphasis on offroad driving. Some big trucks and bikes are thrown in for good measure too

If you strap in for the open beta you’ll get access to two game modes: Overdrive and Countdown. These will allow you to play against the AI or take the action online in 6v6 multiplayer events.

A number of different vehicle types will be available too, with their own skills and specialities for you to experiment with throughout the beta period.

The Onrush open beta starts Thursday 17th May on PS4 and Xbox One. Those who pre-order the game can start playing from the 15th instead. The game itself is scheduled for release on June 5th.
