The official Mega Man YouTube channel was updated with a new trailer for Capcom’s upcoming Mega Man 11, revealing new features and a release date.

With 3D modelled characters on a 2D plane, the latest instalment in the franchise has Mega Man battling Dr Wily’s eight Robot Masters and taking their powerful weapons for himself. The trailer also showcases the new Double Gear system – created by the evil Dr Wily to push robots beyond their normal capabilities. Mega Man’s creator, Dr Light, installs the system into the Blue Bomber, allowing him the ability to boost his speed (slowing time around him) and power (overcharging the Mega Buster, as well as the special weapons from defeated Robot Masters). However, overuse of the Double Gear system will cause Mega Man to overheat, preventing him from using the system until he has cooled off.

The new trailer also revealed a release date of 2 October 2018. Mega Man 11 will be released on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
