Fresh from starring in Netflix’s Altered Carbon, Brit actor James Purefoy is the latest guest to be confirmed for MCM London Comic Con when the pop culture show returns on 25-27 May. His character Laurens Bancroft plays a key role in the recent cyberpunk series, with the powerful plutocrat tasking protagonist Takeshi Kovacs (Joel Kinnaman) with solving his murder after returning from the dead thanks to a handy personality back-up.
Purefoy’s other small screen roles range from Kanjigar the Courageous in Guillermo del Toro animated fantasy Trollhunters and title character Hap in darkly comic crime drama Hap and Leonard to boorish general Mark Antony in the HBO historical drama Rome and chilling serial killler Joe Carroll in American horror series The Following.
In addition to being a noted stage actor, the Somerset-born star has also enjoyed an eclectic movie career, with credits including Disney sci-fi film John Carter; dystopian British drama High-Rise; dark fantasy adventure Solomon Kane; financial thriller Equity; medieval comedy A Knight’s Tale and Paul W.S. Anderson horror actioner Resident Evil.
Tickets to MCM London Comic Con are available here.
