The first 15 minutes of Mobile Suit Gundam the Origin VI: Rise of the Red Comet have been posted on YouTube by Gundam.info, the long-running mecha franchise’s official news portal.

Available in both English-dubbed and multi-language subtitled versions, the video gives us a glimpse of the latest Gundam the Origin movie ahead its 5 May debut in Japan. The film follows Gundam fan fave Char Aznable’s exploits as a young ace pilot in the war between Zeon and the Earth Federation, where he earned the sobriquet of the ‘Red Comet’ for his remarkable feats at the controls of his famous red Zaku mobile suit.

Gundam the Origin VI: Rise of the Red Comet will be available in the UK as a Blu-ray collector’s edition this summer. Expected to arrive late July/early August, the Bandai Visual Japan release is being distributed in the UK, Ireland and Scandinavia by Anime Limited, with pre-orders closing on 11 May.
