Khary Payton, who plays The Walking Dead’s King Ezekiel, and Cooper Andrews, who appears as his right hand man Jerry, are extending their UK visit to include MCM Manchester Comic Con. Already announced as guests at MCM’s flagship London event, Payton and Andrews will now be meeting fans on both days of July’s MCM Manchester as well.

What with the whole ‘sitting on his throne with a pet tiger by his side’ shtick, Payton’s King Ezekiel might seem like just another of the petty tyrants who litter The Walking Dead’s zombie-infested, post-apocalypse wasteland. However, likeable Ezekiel turns out to be a genuinely good guy faking an OTT regal persona to inspire his loyal subjects.

When he’s not battling zombies and petting tigers in The Walking Dead, Khary Payton is best known for his cartoon and videogame voice work – in particular, as Wasabi in Big Hero 6: The Series and superhero Cyborg in Teen Titans, Teen Titans Go!, Justice League Action and upcoming animated movie Teen Titans Go! To the Movies.

Joining Payton at MCM Manchester will be Cooper Andrews, who plays King Ezekiel’s equally amiable, battle axe-wielding bodyguard Jerry. Also known for his work behind the camera, Long Island-born Andrews came to The Walking Dead following a recurring role as Yo-Yo Engberk on well-received Silicon Valley drama Halt and Catch Fire.

MCM Manchester Comic Con comes to Manchester Central on 28-29 July. Tickets to the show are available here.
