UK anime fans will get the chance to watch Studio Pierrot horror anime Tokyo Ghoul:re at the same time as it airs in Japan with the news that Anime Limited has acquired the rights to the third season in the Tokyo Ghoul franchise.

Last week’s announcement that Funimation’s English dub of Tokyo Ghoul:re would not be streaming to the UK and Ireland had us fearing the worst, but Anime Limited’s Easter weekend announcement means that viewers on this side of the Pond will now have access to Crunchyroll’s subbed simulcast, which is set to premiere tonight.

Having previously released the first two seasons of Tokyo Ghoul as well as the Jack and Pinto OVAs, Anime Limited will also be giving Tokyo Ghoul:re the home video treatment at some point in the future. However, the Glasgow distributor says that we’re unlikely to hear any news of a DVD or Blu-ray release until mid-2019 at the earliest.

Anime Limited also announced another pick-up in the shape of Lupin the 3rd Part 5. Like Tokyo Ghoul:re, the latest season in TMS Entertainment’s long-running anime adaptation of crime caper manga Lupin III will begin simulcasting on Crunchyroll this evening.
