We’ve been fans of Forgotton Anne for some time now at MyM Buzz. After the game first caught our eye with is gorgeous anime style and whimsical Ghibli-like aura, we knew we had to find out more about it. That’s why we reached out to the game’s creative director Alfred Nguyen to learn how he and the team at ThroughLine Games combined their fondness for classic anime and cinematic video games to create Forgotton Anne.
Now, just a few months later, Square Enix Collective has announced that Forgotton Anne will be released on May 15th for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
The game follows the story of a lost soul named Anne, who finds herself in the strange and peculiar Forgotten Lands – a place where mislaid items from the human world reside. Along with her ally Master Bonku, she keeps watch over this mysterious otherworld full of anthropomorphised socks, scarfs and trinkets, while trying to find a way to return home.
The tale plays out like an old-school cinematic adventure, combining conversation, moral choices, exploration and puzzle-solving as you delve further into the Forgotten Lands. From what we’ve played it looks wonderful in motion and has left us intrigued to see how Anne’s journey will develop.
Forgotton Anne will be priced at £15.49/$19.99/€19.99 on PC, £15.99/$19.99/€19.99 on Xbox One, and £16.00/$19.99/€19.99 on PS4.
