Switch owners looking to take their first (or maybe repeat) visit to Lordran will have to wait just a little bit longer as Bandai Namco has announced that Dark Souls: Remastered has been delayed on the Nintendo console.

No reason was given along with the news of the postponement, though the publisher did also confirm that the Solaire of Astora amiibo has been pushed back to a similar timeframe.

They’ll both now be released later this Summer.

Perhaps some extra time is needed to perfect the performance of the challenging RPG on the Switch? Already, we know the game has to run at a lower frame rate on the device and drop to 720p resolution when in handheld mode. On PS4 and Xbox One, it runs at 60fps in 1080p all the way – and is even upscaled to 4K on the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X.

We recently went hands-on with Dark Souls: Remastered on the PS4 Pro and found it to be a perfectly fine update of the base game that sticks to the fundamental gameplay many love or hate.
