JRPG Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana is to get a Nintendo Switch release this June, a new trailer from NIS America reveals. Nihon Falcom’s fantasy adventure will launch on the Switch on 26 June in North America, and a few days later on 29 June in Europe.

The eighth main instalment in the long-running Ys franchise and a direct sequel of Ys V: Lost Kefin, Kingdom of Sand, Lacrimosa of Dana sees protagonist Adol shipwrecked and stranded on a cursed island. There, he and fellow shipwreck survivors found a village, encounter fearsome beasts and explore the mysterious ruins that dot the isolated island. Adol also begins to dream of the titular Dana – a mysterious blue-haired maiden from an unknown world.
