Makoto Yukimura’s Vinland Saga manga is to get an anime adaptation courtesy of Wit Studio, best known as the makers of the phenomenally successful Attack on Titan. The Viking-themed television is set to stream exclusively on Amazon Prime both in Japan and abroad.

Created by Planetes author Makoto Yukimura back in 2005, Vinland Saga chronicles the adventures of hot-headed young Icelandic warrior Thorfinn, who is on a quest to avenge the death of his father at the hands of mercenary leader Askeladd.

Joining Askeladd’s company in order to duel him, the teenage Thorfinn finds himself caught up in the war-torn politics of 11th century England and the rise of King Canute.
