Netflix is to give the third season of French animated series Wakfu a worldwide release on 1 April. Produced by Ankama Animations, the 13 episode Wakfu Season 3 first aired on France television last September, but will now be available dubbed into English, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese and Polish (and subbed into eight more languages). Ankama has also created a new free mobile game, Wakfu: The Brotherhood, to accompany the Netflix release.

Based on Ankama’s tactical turn-based MMORPG of the same name, the latest season of kid-friendly cartoon Wakfu is set a few years after protagonist Yugo and his warrior chum Sir Percedal beat fearsome ogre Ogrest (well, sort of!) and begins with the Brotherhood of the Tofu scattered and shape-shifting dragon Adamaï missing …although it’s not long before a new adventure’s afoot.

Wakfu: The Animated Series first debuted back in 2008, with Ankama later funding an English-dubbed Blu-ray release of the first two seasons through Kickstarter. The series began airing on Netflix in September 2014.
