Cult fave web comic Homestuck is heading to print, with VIZ Media releasing Homestuck Book 1: Act 1 & Act 2 as a deluxe hardcover on 13 April. Future volumes will be published on a quarterly basis, while the series will also be available digitally via viz.com and the VIZ Manga App, as well as from stores such as Nook, Kindle and Google Play.

Created by Andrew Hussie in 2009 as part of his MS Paint Adventures series, Homestuck is a voluminous, intricately-plotted, genre-busting comic that spans more than 8,000 pages. It begins with 13-year-old John Egbert playing a mysterious multiplayer video game called Sburb, which promptly triggers the apocalypse. You know how it is. Fortunately, John and his friends get the chance to create the universe anew – provided they can beat the game.

“We are very proud to debut the first book of these deluxe Homestuck compilations in April,” said VIZ Media’s Leyla Aker. “Filled with creator Andrew Hussie’s commentary, this is an essential (and entertaining) companion piece to a genre-defying story that that changed the digital comic landscape.”
