Since we first played the gorgeous Yoku’s Island Express at the tail end of last year the game hasn’t left our minds. Its quirky gameplay ideas, which transplant the frenetic action of a pinball machine to a platform adventure, are quite unlike anything we’ve played before and work surprisingly elegantly.

Now, Team17 has released a brand new trailer to show off the game in action, as well as some of the characters you’ll bump into in the game’s painterly world.

It looks just as wonderful as before, as dung beetle postmaster Yoku pings himself around Mokumana Island. His quest will take him on a journey to awaken the isle’s troubled deity whose nightmares are causing all sorts of problems for the inhabitants, including quakes and storms.

Yoku’s Island Express is scheduled for release on PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC in Q2 2018.
