No Man’s Sky NEXT update announced for Summer 2018

Nope, someone hasn’t announced a range of fashionable yet affordable clothing for No Man’s Sky. There is, however, a massive free update coming to the ambitious space sim this Summer called No Man’s Sky NEXT.

We don’t know exactly what will be in the update, but Hello Games founder Sean Murray took to Twitter to make the announcement saying that, “it’s our largest update so far, and we’re working our socks off.”

If other updates to the game such as Foundation, Pathfinder and Atlas Rises are anything to go by, we can expect some significant changes and improvements to the game. Base building, quests and a semblance on a multiplayer mode have all been introduced in the past. Overall, they’ve turned the fortunes of the game drastically: from an undercooked disappointment to a more realised sci-fi epic.

That’s not all the No Man’s Sky news today, though. We also learnt that the game will be coming to Xbox One later this year, ending the period of exclusivity on Sony’s console. The retail version will be distributed by 505 Games and include all previously released updates, as well as this Summer’s NEXT. No word on a release date yet, but expect it to be late this year too.
