It’s been one year since we were graced with the bizarre and brilliant Nier: Automata. To celebrate, the game’s eccentric creative director, Yoko Taro, has released a special video message for fans of the esoteric action RPG.
See it in all its glory below:
If you’ve not had the pleasure of seeing Yoko Taro in the flesh before then that short clip must seem doubly bonkers. Yeah, that giant moon-head-thing is his shtick. Make sure you stay past the end of the video too for some peculiar outtakes.
The video is not all just crazed ramblings of a madman, though, as he takes the time to announce a number of global fan events will be taking place to mark Nier: Automata‘s first birthday in North America and Europe. More details are expected soon.
Recently, Square Enix hosted a 24-hour live stream in Japan for the game’s anniversary. The full-day event featured guest appearances from Yoko Taro, as well as developers from Platinum Games, members of the game’s voice cast and the game’s composer.
