Award-winning anime film In This Corner of the World will be screening on Sky Cinema Premiere and Premiere HD on Wednesday 7 March at 10:00 pm. It will also be airing on those channels on Friday and Saturday at the rather less tempting time of 3:35am in the morning.

Directed by Sunao Katabuchi (Mai Mai Miracle, Princess Arete), the World War II-set movie tells the story of 18-year-old Suzu, who moves to a small town near Hiroshima following her marriage to Shusaku, the eldest son of the Hojo family.

Beating out Makoto Shinkai’s Your Name to claim last year’s Japan Academy Prize for Best Animated Film, In This Corner of the World is well worth catching if you haven’t seen it yet; a poignant but heart-warming tale of ordinary lives lived in the shadow of The Bomb.

In This Corner of the World is available on Blu-ray and DVD from Manga Entertainment, who also gave the film a UK theatrical release in 2017.
