Famed manga series Death Note has been adapted as an acclaimed anime, live action movies, light novels, videogames and even a musical… and now it’s coming to your tabletop too! Published by IDW Games in collaboration with Viz Media, two-player board game Death Note: Confrontation is slated to hit stores this June.

In Death Note: Confrontation, one player will take on the role of teenage protagonist Light Yagami, using his titular notebook to kill off criminals across the country as the mysterious ‘Kira’. Meanwhile, their opponent plays as genius detective L, tasked with unmasking Kira’s true identity and bringing his murderous supernatural rampage to an end.

According to IDW, Death Note: Confrontation’s gameplay sees L feeding Kira specific targets in order to deduce his location and, ultimately, his identity. For his part, Light is racing to murder the victims on his list, eliminating enough targets in order to gain the victory points needed for him to win the game and disappear without a trace.
