Manga Entertainment has licensed Franco-Japanese animated feature Mutafukaz for the UK market. A collaboration between Tokyo-based Studio 4°C (Tekkonkinkreet, Genius Party) and French gaming and animation company Ankama (Wakfu, Dofus), the stylish-looking feature is co-directed by Shojiro Nishimi and Guillaume ‘Run’ Renard.

Mutafukaz is slated for a 23 May theatrical release in France, but there’s no news yet on when it’ll reach Blighty. Adapted from Run’s own comic book series, the film follows young deadbeat Angelino, who begins to see monstrous forms prowling the mean streets of Dark Meat City after getting into a scooter accident. Is Angelino going off his rocker? Are vicious aliens really walking amongst us? We dunno, but it all makes for a hella cool trailer…
